Woohoo, it’s time for month 2 of my Foodie Pen Pals adventures!
This month I was lucky enough to receive a package from Alice, who’s not a blogger but who takes her job as a foodie very, very seriously.
Baked goods are spiffy. You know who else is spiffy? My friend Erin over at The Spiffy Cookie. So when she needed a few guest posters to hold down the sweet fort while she’s away being science-y, I was more than happy to step up!
A soft cookie bottom and a fudgy, chocolatey brownie layer, all sandwiched together by a crumbled Tagalong Girl Scout cookie filling–it’s clear that this little cake packs a punch that puts the much-hyped slutty brownie to shame.
Stop kidding yourself. The end of your week is just calling out for some layer cake with questionable morals–go get the recipe!
I’ve been training for my first half marathon (13.1 miles) since before Christmas, and my race weekend finally arrived yesterday. I didn’t sleep much the night before since I was crazy nervous–I was excited and apprehensive and relieved that the day had come, all at the same time. I double and triple checked my bag before leaving my apartment–I was so paranoid I’d forget something like my running shoes and completely screw up the day.
Thankfully, that didn’t happen!
Okay, let’s get one thing straight–my Irish ancestors would probably disown me for using the sweet potato for this blog hop. But…they’re my favorite. And making sweet potato fries has been on my to-do list forEVER. And also I did my best to make this plate an Irish flag–green broccoli, white sauce, orange sweet potato fries?
Okay, yeah, Eire has officially revoked my heritage.
Let’s talk about cupcakes. Specifically? Butter Lane cupcakes.
This year I started buying Christmas presents in October. Well, one present. I knew without a doubt when I saw this Groupon offer that it was the perfect gift for my sister (the Middle Chip!)–a cupcake class for the two of us at Butter Lane! Mixing, frosting, sampling…seriously, could you ask for a better present?!
