Welcome to Chip Chip Hooray! However it is you found me, I’m glad you’re here. I’m Tara, your resident 20-something NYC dweller with a vicious sweet tooth, passion for all things food, and shoestring budget on which to satisfy both of those things.
In my “real” day-to-day life, I work in internal communications for a financial services firm in Manhattan. But my nights, weekends, and assorted holidays are spent whipping up tasty concoctions to
fatten up bring smiles to the faces of my family, friends, and coworkers. I also love to write–in addition to the blogging I do here, I wrote a biweekly column over at Big Girls Small Kitchen College for a while, and have also contributed pieces to Espresso and Cream and Peanut Butter Fingers. And, if you’re interested in my ho-hum day-to-day life, Rachel Cooks did an interview with me!
In the spirit of learning about me, here are some fun factoids:
~cupcakes, especially when the ratio of frosting to cake is 2/3 – 1/3.
~well-worn Converse lowtops.
~runs that kick my butt and make me feel like a rockstar at the same time.
~spontaneous fro-yo excursions (because it’s a healthy dessert).
~grad school. I’m a huge nerd.
~bad reality TV. If it involves fondant, butter, pretty dresses, or people eating fondant and butter while wearing pretty dresses, chances are I will be glued to the screen.
~all things Spanish, especially the food.
~peanut butter–on anything and everything.
~spending my Friday nights drinking a glass of wine and playing Scrabble with the
boy fiance, then falling asleep on the couch watching Food Network.
No me gusta…
~black pens. In college I would only buy blue packs.
~blue cheese. I’M SORRY. I know. All you gorgonzola lovers out there are shunning me.
~use of the term “mouthfeel.”
~going to sleep with dishes in the sink. Can’t do it, won’t do it.
~feeling worried and stressed all the time. That’s where this comes in.
~coconut. I knowwww, again. I’m working on it, I swear.
Coconut milk and I are slowly getting acquainted. Stay tuned. Update: no way, folks.
~the fact that I no longer live in close proximity to a Sonic, Dairy Queen, In-N-Out, or authentic Philly cheesesteak. I accept deliveries.
Welcome again! Come in and stay awhile.
