Well, friends. My little bloggy has been sadly quiet as of late. Stepping in to save the day and fill that void is my darling sister, Megan (aka Middle Chip), who was lucky enough to do some traveling over Spring Break this year. And of course, like any good sister of mine, she wrote about everything she tasted. Get ready for a day-by-day review like no other!
I know, I know; I’ve sort of dropped off the face of the earth these past couple of weeks. I spent a week in sunny California with my family for my cousin’s wedding (take me back to the beach, please! That’s the Huntington Beach pier, above, with Ruby’s Diner all the way out at the end–best.milkshakes.ever.). And the week after that was full of overdue work emails and apartment hunting (yes, again)…
A phrase you’ve often heard to describe consumption of alcohol at an hour that might otherwise be considered uncouth, no? Well. Let me tell you, friends, there is something weirdly freeing about uttering those words at the blissful hour of 10 a.m.
Cheerio, mates! As those of you on Twitter may remember, I’ve just returned from a wonderful, whirlwind weekend spent visiting my sister (affectionately, Middle Chip) in London, where she’s studying for the semester. We had such a fabulous time, and I was so sad to leave her again until December! But it’s definitely a weekend I’ll always remember sharing with her.
Now, the two of us didn’t get up to all that much cooking this weekend (although we did manage one kitchen creation!), but what follows is a bit of a tour through our antics and escapades…most of which involve a lot of sugar…
So don’t get me wrong. I love you guys. But I’d much rather be here.
I just got back from eight wonderful days in the Sunshine State, and this whole back-to-work-real-life-still-exists thing is a rather unpleasant surprise. To distract myself from the inevitable post-vacay slump, I present to you: a recap of some of the culinary highlights of the trip!
